She grew up as a competitive dancer, danced as a pro basketball team dancer, a professional ballerina as well as owning her own dance studio for 18 years. Her love for teaching has been the most rewarding part of her dance career expanding over 35 years of experience. Hi, I’m Dani! I earned my BFA in graphic design with honors (summa cum laude) from Iowa State University, where I also explored my passion for dance. During my time at college, I held leadership positions in various dance groups. Additionally, I was actively involved in unique organizations like Grandma Mojo’s Improv Comedy and the Quidditch Club.
While pursuing my degree, I had the privilege of teaching dance and gymnastics to children through the City of Ames, and I assisted in teaching dance to adults at Mainstream Living. My dedication to dance earned me several prestigious awards, including the Anna R. Toman Dance Award, Charlotte Wilkinson Memorial Award, Iowa State Dance Performing Arts Scholarship, and the Tap ISU Leadership Award.
Since graduating, I’ve been teaching dance, tumbling, and cirque at DXP and applying my design skills as a UX/UI Designer at Fun.com. Originally from Iowa, I relocated to Mankato to pursue my dream of becoming a UX/UI Designer. Dance and tumbling have been lifelong passions of mine since the age of two, and I’m thrilled to continue sharing it with the talented kids at DXP. I genuinely enjoy teaching and building connections with these young dancers and tumblers!
I grew up dancing since the age of seven at Fusion Dance in Red Wing, Minnesota, turning to competitive dance when I turned eleven. I received multiple title awards for my solos, as well as many scholarships. I have traveled to Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, and a multitude of places in Minnesota for further dance training and opportunities. This is my second year teaching at DXP, I work with children in grades first through fourth. I currently attend MNSU, Mankato as a sophomore, where I am majoring in social studies education, on track to become a psychology teacher.
Little Monkeys Circus Classes are super fun for preschoolers 3-5 years of age. Watch your little one gain confidence and learn new skills.
Each class includes basic tumbling, interactive circuits, balance beams, silks, juggling, hula hoops, and more all under the supervision of our fully qualified teachers.
Our Little Monkeys program also incorporates fun with play elements to help with their development. It is very interactive and has lots of elements to help get children ready for big school such as; identifying colors, answering to their name, following instruction and so much more.
Have you ever wanted to join the circus?
Or maybe you just love tumbling and rolling and climbing and hanging off everything in sight!
Well, now you can! And in a safe and positive environment full of fun!
We’re bringing the magic of Circus to DXP in the perfect class for you, Dance Cirque and Little Monkeys!
Dance Cirque is for children over 6 years of age, great for boys and girls and you don’t need to be a dancer to enjoy it. It works on level cards so everyone progresses at their own pace.
It not only involves an apparatus (silks, Lyra, trapeze) but also a ground act (juggling and hula hooping). Great for cognitive development, strength and flexibility, and mostly confidence.
